The Sixth Form Colleges Trust is immensely proud of the recent Ofsted achievements of its academies, The Sixth Form College Colchester and Long Road Sixth Form College.

In May 2024, The Sixth Form College Colchester was awarded 'Outstanding' in all seven inspection categories, including overall effectiveness, quality of education, and leadership and management. Inspectors commended the college's high-quality teaching by subject specialists and its calm, focused learning environments that support and enable students to learn very effectively. They also highlighted the exemplary behaviour of students and their empowerment to take ownership of their futures as active citizens. 

Similarly, Long Road Sixth Form College received a 'Good' rating in all key areas in its 2025 Ofsted inspection, with an 'Outstanding' judgment for its provision for students with high needs. The report praised the college's inclusive and high-achieving environment, noting students' exemplary behaviour and mature approach to learning. Inspectors highlighted the exceptional support provided to students with high needs, enabling them to excel academically and personally.
