The Sixth Form Colleges Trust is a co-created MAT comprising of The Sixth Form College Colchester and Long Road Sixth Form College. These together form one of the largest and most successful inclusive 16-19 providers of general academic sixth form education in the country and aim to provide high-quality education programmes to 16-19 students resident in the Cambridge and Colchester region.
Working at the Trust provides candidates with the opportunity to be part of dedicated local provision, but with the advantages of a broader-based educational community that seeks to develop and enhance individuals to reach their full potential. The Trust is a diverse, multicultural community with a positive and vibrant ethos and atmosphere. We value diversity, and we ensure equality of opportunity is at the heart of all we do.
Working as part of the college community, you will be based at either Long Road or Colchester and will benefit from the strong induction programmes and individual support in each college. This is enhanced by close collaboration across the two sites, particularly in the areas of staff development. Colleagues will be eligible to join either the national teachers pension scheme, or the appropriate local government scheme, and salaries and terms of conditions of service are those of the Sixth Form Colleges Association (which broadly mirror those of the school sector).
As an innovative Trust we are committed to enhancing the individual skills of our staff, placing a great deal of emphasis on progression and career development, training and support. Whilst each college has its own suite of benefits, we believe strongly in supporting our staff and ensuring that everyone feels valued and respected. The wellbeing of our colleagues is important to the Trust.
